Spokane is about forty miles west of Coeur d'Alene along I-90, and for most practical purposes the two cities share a single regional market. Spokane International Airport serves all of North Idaho, and the arena and downtown venues host most of the concerts and events that draw crowds from across the state line.
We run into Spokane regularly for exactly those reasons: airport transfers in both directions, concert and event nights, and corporate travel where a client lands at GEG and has a meeting in Coeur d'Alene.
What the Spokane run involves
The drive is straightforward but not always quick. The I-90 corridor through the Spokane Valley carries commuter traffic on weekday mornings and afternoons, and winter conditions along the same stretch can add half an hour with no warning. Every Spokane trip we quote is scheduled against realistic timing rather than the map's estimate.
For concerts and arena events, the value is almost entirely in the exit. Getting into downtown Spokane before a show is manageable; getting a car out of a downtown garage with several thousand other people afterward is the part that ruins the evening. We agree a pickup point and time before the event so nobody is coordinating by text in a crowd.
Airport work is our steadiest Spokane route. Because we are based in Idaho, we build the crossing into the schedule as a matter of course — the state line is not an afterthought in our timing the way it sometimes is with providers working outward from Spokane.
